1/13/2024 0 Comments Pyre gameplay![]() But then I watched the Demos, and boy I got excited, the opening scene alone already hooked me, with the dialog providing lore context "clues", the INCREDIBLE art design, and the amazing soundtrack then as I watched more and more, everything clicked for me, the "tactile" way of interacting with the Blackwagon, the scenario, the aparent resource management, the choices of what to do after each stop. To be honest I also didn't quite got gripped by the first trailers, as they show more of the rites, I even thought I'd pass this one, even though I loved Bastion and Transistor so much. We'll find out how we did pretty soon now! ![]() While we know we're taking a risk by deviating from a 'proven formula', we also feel strongly that our games have been successful because they've felt fresh and surprising, so it's that sense of freshness that we've tried to capture with each new game (for ourselves as a team and hopefully for you as players). The story is more at the forefront, the pace is different, and the campaign is bigger. I think Pyre has the 'soul' of our previous games, since it's the same people behind it, but it's true it's a big departure from Bastion and Transistor in terms of genre.
